This Privacy Policy explains how Humanity Enlightened (“we,” “us” or “our”), a small online retailer based in the United States, collects, uses, shares and protects personal information when you visit this website, join our notify list, contact us or buy from us. We sell tuning forks, crystals, gemstone jewelry and digital audio and ebook products.
1. Information We Collect
Information you give us
- Contact details: name, email address and, if you provide it, phone number.
- Order details: products purchased, shipping and billing address, order history and any notes you add.
- Payment information: card and payment details are entered directly with our third-party payment processor. We receive confirmation of payment, the last four digits of the card and billing details, but we do not receive or store your full card number or security code.
- Notify list and email sign-ups: the email address (and name, if you give it) you submit so we can tell you when a product is available.
- Communications: messages, photos and other information you send to our support inbox or provide in reviews.
Information collected automatically
- Technical data such as IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, referring page, pages viewed and approximate location derived from your IP address. This is typically collected in standard server and content delivery logs.
- Cookies and similar technologies, described in section 5.
Information from others
We may receive limited information from payment processors (for example, whether a payment succeeded or was disputed), shipping carriers (delivery status) and email providers (whether a message was delivered).
2. How We Use Information
- To process, fulfill, ship and support your orders, including sending order confirmations, tracking and service messages.
- To deliver digital products and any community access included with an order.
- To respond to your questions and requests, and to handle returns, refunds and disputes.
- To notify you when a product you asked about is back, and, where you have signed up or the law allows, to send marketing emails. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- To detect, prevent and investigate fraud, abuse and security incidents.
- To operate, maintain and improve the site and our products.
- To comply with legal, tax and accounting obligations and to enforce our Terms.
3. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share information only as described below:
- Service providers that help us run the business under contracts limiting their use of the data, such as payment processors, shipping carriers and fulfillment partners, email delivery and customer support tools, and website hosting and content delivery providers.
- Legal and safety: to comply with law, legal process or government requests; to protect the rights, property and safety of our customers, the public or us; and to prevent fraud.
- Business transfers: if we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.
- With your direction or consent, for example if you ask us to share information with someone.

In the past 12 months we have collected the following categories of personal information, as defined by California law, for the business purposes described above:

We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information as defined by California law, such as government ID numbers, precise geolocation, or health information. Please do not send us health information.
5. Cookies and Similar Technologies
This website is a simple static site and does not currently use advertising cookies, social media pixels or third-party analytics. Our hosting provider may use strictly necessary technologies and standard server logs to deliver the site securely. When you check out with a third-party payment or store provider, that provider may set cookies it needs to process your order and prevent fraud. If we add analytics or advertising tools in the future, we will update this policy and provide any choices the law requires. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies in their settings; blocking some cookies may affect checkout.
6. Email Communications
If you join our notify list or buy from us, we may email you about the product you asked about and about related offers. Every marketing email contains an unsubscribe link, or you can email support@humanityenlightened.com and we will remove you. We will still send transactional messages about your orders, such as receipts, shipping and support replies.
7. Data Retention
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described above, including to provide products and support, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, and meet tax, accounting and legal requirements. Order and payment records are generally kept for several years for those reasons. Notify-list and marketing information is kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it, and then removed or anonymized unless the law requires us to retain it.
8. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections and payment handling by PCI-compliant processors. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please use a unique password for any account you create and contact us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.
9. Your California Privacy Rights
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended by the CPRA) gives you the right to:
- Know what personal information we collect, use, disclose and sell or share, and request a copy of the specific information we hold about you.
- Delete personal information we collected from you, subject to legal exceptions (for example, records we must keep for tax or fraud-prevention purposes).
- Correct inaccurate personal information.
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of.
- Limit the use of sensitive personal information. We do not use sensitive personal information beyond what is necessary to provide our products.
- Non-discrimination: we will not deny you products, charge different prices or provide a different quality of service because you exercised your rights.
How to make a request. Email support@humanityenlightened.com with the subject line “Privacy Request,” tell us which right you want to exercise, and include the name and email address you used with us. To protect your information, we will verify your identity by matching details you provide to our records, and we may ask for additional information. We will confirm receipt within 10 business days and respond within 45 days; if we need more time (up to another 45 days), we will tell you why. You may use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf; we may require written permission from you and verification of your identity. If we decline a request, you may appeal by replying to our decision email.
Shine the Light. California Civil Code section 1798.83 allows California residents to ask for information about disclosures of personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. We do not disclose personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes.
10. Rights in Other States
Residents of some other U.S. states have similar rights to access, correct, delete and obtain a copy of their personal information, and to opt out of targeted advertising, sale and certain profiling. We apply the same practices described in section 9 to those requests. We do not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising. Contact us at the email above to make a request.
11. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
Because we do not sell or share personal information or track you across other sites, we do not alter our practices in response to “Do Not Track” signals. We treat a browser-based Global Privacy Control signal as a valid opt-out request where the law requires, although as noted above, we do not sell or share information.
12. Children’s Privacy
Our site and products are intended for adults and are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
13. Visitors Outside the United States
We are based in the United States and process information here. If you visit or order from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be transferred to, stored and processed in the United States, which may have different data-protection laws than your country. Where applicable law gives you additional rights, you may contact us to exercise them.
14. Third-Party Websites
Our site may link to third-party sites. We are not responsible for their privacy practices, and we encourage you to read their policies.
15. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised version here and change the “Last updated” date. If we make material changes, we will take reasonable steps to notify you, such as by email to customers where appropriate.
